Good eye! The prototype turntable at Port Costa was 75 feet, and the Banta kit is intended for such a turntable length. I simply aligned the structure at the same distance from my turntable CENTER, as is shown in the Banta layout drawing (13.75 inches), and it works fine. With that geometrical approach, the roundhouse will work with almost any turntable length ABOVE 75 feet.
Tony ThompsonTony Thompsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593061828601275378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-2328048649841863652014-01-18T18:32:56.671-08:002014-01-18T18:32:56.671-08:00I really like the idea of having this little facil...I really like the idea of having this little facility on my own layout. How long is that turn table? I am guessing it is 90 feet? When you visit the site today, it is hard to picture that space containing a roundhouse, turntable, depot, and all the rest of what was there.

I could not agree more about the Harriman Consolidations. I have a bunch working on my layout already and may add more.
Tony ThompsonTony Thompsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593061828601275378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-68433441038338918872013-12-31T19:35:42.761-08:002013-12-31T19:35:42.761-08:00This is a neat little facility. Kind of like the GP9 of their time - a road switcher before the term road switcher was invented.Arved Grasshttp://www.arvedgrass.comnoreply@blogger.com
