It is far more complete and detailed than the two magazine articles mentioned in the text, and would be much preferable as a source of prototype information about SP depots.
Tony ThompsonTony Thompsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593061828601275378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-17368644733755008462012-10-01T09:53:10.189-07:002012-10-01T09:53:10.189-07:00Right, MRH has now gone to a 60-day instead of 30-...Right, MRH has now gone to a 60-day instead of 30-day lead time for columns, which I had forgotten. I have corrected the post to say "November" instead of October.
Tony ThompsonTony Thompsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593061828601275378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-63732298267862778332012-10-01T09:14:36.600-07:002012-10-01T09:14:36.600-07:00I downloaded the Oct. 2012 MRH but didn't see ...I downloaded the Oct. 2012 MRH but didn't see your column.Jim Lancasterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05469772431884326657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-25662755301394691782012-09-29T11:40:29.073-07:002012-09-29T11:40:29.073-07:00Thanks, Tom. His SP No. 21 depot can be viewed at this link: http://www.showcaseminiatures.com/hoscalestruct.html . It is an interesting CS 21, as it has a partially open-air freight room, and is based on the surviving North Hollywood depot. I'm sure it could readily be kitbashed to other configurations of a No. 21.
Tony ThomposnTony Thompsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593061828601275378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-40534873826460159762012-09-29T11:34:29.153-07:002012-09-29T11:34:29.153-07:00Also you might mention that Joe Warren of Showcase...Also you might mention that Joe Warren of Showcase Miniatures has a beautiful model of a CS 21 station such as San Fernando and Lankershim is SoCal.CM Auditorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03171947423186789232noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-68253365736091786102012-09-28T21:35:55.331-07:002012-09-28T21:35:55.331-07:00Absolutely, though of course the available space w...Absolutely, though of course the available space would dictate how well it could work. The CS 22 is about 25 by 80 feet (exclusive of loading dock). In my space, that would mean I would have to both narrow and considerably shorten the structure. But especially if you don't have to narrow it, changing the length should be much simpler, and also prototypical, if you shorten the freight room. The AMB kits are very nice, and would certainly make a robust starting point.
Tony ThompsonTony Thompsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11593061828601275378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3218524178230712938.post-26910541002741723312012-09-28T20:42:20.027-07:002012-09-28T20:42:20.027-07:00Could something suitable be bashed from the AMB 22...Could something suitable be bashed from the AMB 22 or 23 kit? I've been planning to build the Common Standard No. 22 that I have, but a reduced version would work well too.Snailbumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05680478464083943575noreply@blogger.com
